| In addition to programs of record (existing programs and stated opportunities), our analysts also develop derived opportunities which represent our best attempt to anticipate emerging requirements. Our analysts do this by studying market trends, aging inventories, emerging technologies, buying patterns and other market dynamics to estimate requirements that may exist, but have not as of yet been acknowledged or announced by government customers. While these forecasts are certainly more speculative, we have seen a large percentage of these predictions eventually emerge as stated requirements. All of our speculative forecasts are factored by a probability estimate, P(go), to calculate the expected values. This enables us to enter all of the opportunity we can find or derive without overstating the market as if everything will get funded, because we know that isn't true.
